Edward Burtynsky (born 1955, St. Catharines, Ontario) is a Canadian photographer whose large-format images of industrial landscapes have made the environmental impact of human activity visible on a monumental scale. Son of a Ukrainian immigrant father who worked on the General Motors assembly line.
