Marcelle Maltais (1933-2018) was a Quebec painter and one of the first women in Quebec to achieve lasting success as a professional artist. Born Chicoutimi, Quebec; studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Quebec City (1946-54) under Jean Dallaire and Jean-Paul Lemieux. Moved to Montreal in the 1950s
