Inuit sculptor Axangayuk Shaa, RCA (1937–2019) carved dancing walruses, bears, caribou and transformation scenes in Cape Dorset, Nunavut. Elected to the Royal Canadian Academy in 2003, he was represented by Madrona Gallery and his work resides in major museum collections worldwide
